Three Sisters (Brig) logbook, 1788-1790.

The logbook of the brig Three Sisters details a shipping voyage from Salem, Mass., to the Cape of Good Hope, Jakarta, and Huangpu Qu (Whampoa), Dec. 1788-June 1790. The brig's owner was Elias Hasket Derby; the master was Benjamin Webb. The logbook includes examples of poetry and sea songs, notes on shipboard occupations, and a list of vessels in China in 1789 and 1790. The brig spoke the ship Astrea and brig Henry, both out of Salem, in 1789.
